World Series Wildness

The World Series got off to a bang earlier this week with the Philadelphia Phillies scratching and crawling their way to a game-one victory over the Houston Astros. The Phils were down five runs after three innings, but they came back largely due to their dominant bullpen and clutch late-inning hitting from Alec Bohm and J.T. Realmuto.

Every game since game one has been a nail-biter! The scores of game two through game 5 have been 5-2 (Astros win), 7-0 (Phillies win), 5-0 (Astros win), and 3-2 (Astros win). Although some of these scores look a little lopsided on paper, the winning team only pulled in front in the late innings.

Tonight, November 5th, is game 6 of the World Series! The season may (but hopefully won't) come to an end. Houston's southpaw, Framber Valdez, will be taking on Phillies ace, Zack Wheeler. Each team will play all of their stars (other than injured Yuli Gurriel) These are two of the best pitchers and lineups in the entire league so this game is set to be a thrilling matchup between two dominant teams.

As a Red Sox fan, there are only two things that make my life miserable: when the Yankees win and when the Astros win. Since 2017 when the Astros were caught cheating by stealing signs to help them win their first World Series, I (and every other Sox fan out there) have had a major bone to pick with them. They've also recently been caught in the act again when the MLB discovered that Martin Maldonaldo used an illegal bat gifted to him by Albert Pujols. The Astros are flat-out cheaters and they don't deserve to win one of the highest honors in pro sports!

The stage is set for tonight to be one of the most thrilling games in recent years! Let's go Phillies! Please don't let Houston take home another ring.
