Tom Brady: Still the G.O.A.T.

Updated: Jan 28, 2021

After losing to the Tennessee Titans in the first round of the Wild Card Round in the playoffs last year, Tom Brady decided that it was best to move on from the Patriots. He decided to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a team with lots of young rising talent. Let's just say that a lot of people have mixed feelings about him leaving New England. Twenty years is a long time to expect fans to just move on from someone like Brady. After all, he's Brady!

Brady and the Buccaneers have played as well as most people expected them to, coming into this season. With the weapons that Brady has to throw to (Mike Evans. Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski, etc.) it's hard not to shine under the spotlight. After an opening day loss to their division opponent, the New Orleans Saints, the Buccaneers rebounded 7-3 on the season.

This week the Buccaneers will be taking on the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football. That will definitely be a great game. Two great defenses taking on a good Rams offense, and in my mind, a great Buccs offense.

Brady has a legitimate shot at being a Super Bowl contender. He has already got six with the Patriots (my favorite team) and is looking for his seventh with his new team. Personally, I think that Brady should have stayed with New England this year because he's already been with us for 20 years. What's the point of leaving the Patriots just before you retire? Just to make people mad? Even though I don't think that he made the right choice, he is truly one of the greatest players (if not the greatest) that the National Football League has ever seen. I still believe that he is the G.O.A.T.

Yeah, but he will still probably go down as the best (?) quarterback of all time? Maybe not, but loyalty runs shallow when cash is involved. Lifetime/career loyalty in business seems to be something of the past as well and sports is business...
