Season Wrap-Up

The past few months in the sports world have been chaotic (thank you, COVID). In many sports, players are living in bubbles and fans can't watch the game in person. Luckily technology lets us see the games live and not miss out on any of the action. Now that the MLB and NBA have ended, there's plenty to talk about.

The MLB season concluded a few months ago (the Dodgers defeated the Rays to win the World Series) and it was very exciting. Even though there was a minimized schedule, every team still got to play a significant number of games. The Boston Red Sox (my favorite team) played horribly. Our record was one of the worst in the league (24-36) and it's not something to brag about. Still, it was very fun to continue to watch normal sports during an unusual time.

The NBA season also ended a little while ago and the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat to win the NBA Finals in game six by a score of 106-93. It was a great series and the Lakers showed us that they are a force to be reckoned with. My favorite team, the Boston Celtics, made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. That's a tough feat to accomplish! It is kind of annoying that we have made the Eastern Conference Finals three of the past four years but we can't seem to win the big game and make it to the NBA Finals.

If we win one or two more games each year, we will probably make the finals. Well, I'm still very thankful that we had the NBA to watch during COVID.

Hopefully, next year will be the year of the Red Sox and the Celtics!
