Today's the day! It's finally here! Tonight we get to witness history in the making by seeing which teams draft which players. Everyone has their favorite players coming into the draft, (I really hope the Patriots select Justin Fields), but no matter whose name is called, it will surely be a blast!
There are a bunch of prospects that will receive their phone call early in the draft, but none is more interesting than former Clemson Tigers quarterback, Trevor Lawrence. He started at Clemson on day one and is going to be the number one selection by the Jacksonville Jaguars in tonight's draft. People have been waiting a long time for him to finally finish college so they can see how he progresses at the professional level.
Another very interesting prospect is former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver, Devonte Smith. He just had what is arguably one of the best seasons that a college-wide receiver has ever had. He ended the year with 117 receptions, 1,856 yards, and 23 touchdowns. That's incredible! Because of his great performance, he won the Heisman Trophy! That is the biggest honor that any college sports athlete can receive. He will probably end up being drafted somewhere around pick ten, (which is great for a receiver), and everyone is excited to see where he lands.
These are two of the most interesting NFL draft prospects, but there are also tons of other fascinating prospects to follow. I'm sure we're all excited to see who gets their name called tonight!
