James Harden Traded to Nets

Updated: Jan 28, 2021

There was a big move in the NBA this week when the Brooklyn Nets acquired James Harden from the Houston Rockets. This was part of a four-team trade that included the Nets, Rockets, Pacers, and the Cavaliers. The biggest asset of this trade by far was James Harden. He has had an extremely good career so far and continues to shine. Even though he is 31, (that's very old in basketball years) he is still putting up numbers like his roughly 37-point average per game in 2020, which put him into the MVP race for the past few years. He is truly an exhilarating player to watch.

Harden, a former MVP and eight-time All-Star now gets to reunite with his former teammate Kevin Durant in Brooklyn. Harden made it clear these past few months that he wanted out of Houston. How do did he do that? After different losses when facing the press, he made some interesting comments such as"We're simply not good enough" and "The Rockets don't have a chance to win an NBA title." He certainly got his point across.

He is definitely one of the best players in the league, and now because he is teaming up with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, the Nets should be one of the scariest teams to beat in the NBA.

With the amount of talent that now resides in Brooklyn, there will be much disappointment if a title can't be won by the Nets soon. They gave up many assets and draft picks to get Harden, so they are relying on winning in the next few years.

Brooklyn, you just might have a shot.
