I know that this is a little late but the Dodgers super-team has just won the World Series. They loaded up in the off-season when they signed Mookie Betts to a $365 million-12-year monster contract. They were already one of the best teams in the league and now this just makes them superior to all of the other teams in the MLB. In my mind, the only other team that had any shot at winning was the Yankees, but they always find a way to screw it up. (I'm a die-hard Red Sox fan.)
This past off-season, the Yankees signed Zack Greinke, one of the top pitchers in the league to a huge contract. (We all remember how Greinke refused to go back to the Astros after the last game of the World Series because his manager took him out of the game.)
As a Red Sox fan, I want the Yankees to lose every game and I want the Dodgers to lose every game. Mookie left us, so now our team is awful and even if I actually liked the Yankees, which I don't, I wouldn't say that in public or I'd get beaten up! Yes, the Dodgers are going to be the team to beat for a long time now. They even have pitchers like Walker Buehler who is only 26! Even if Clayton Kershaw retires, the Dodgers still have one of the top pitchers in the game.
Who knows? Maybe this next year will be the Red Sox's year? We got Alex Cora back and the players seem to like him. Maybe that will be a momentum boost to our suffering team. We can all hope!
In all honesty, congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers for winning the World Series. They had an extremely talented roster and played very hard every day. They deserved to win this year's World Series after getting screwed out of two of their previous World Series runs.
