Celtics Preseason Action

Updated: Jan 28, 2021

The Celtics preseason action kicked off on Tuesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. The C's looked a little sluggish throughout all four quarters and took a 108-99 loss. Although we lost, there were a few bright spots. Payton Pritchard, the 26th pick of the 2020 NBA draft finished with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Coming into the game off of the bench, he put on a show. If this is how he is going to play every game throughout his career, we might have a future Hall of Famer in Boston! Also, one of our newest members, Jeff Teague,

gave fans something special to see. He finished the game with 18 points and 1 assist! For his Boston debut, those stats aren't too shabby!

The Celtics then went on to play their second and final preseason games on Friday. Let's just say that it was ugly... Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Joe Harris dominated in Brooklyn's 113-89 rout over the Celtics. Even though our offense was cold most of the night, Jayson Tatum still finished up with 19 points and Jaylen Brown with 16. This was a tough night for all Celtics fans. (The last thing that we ever want is to see Kyrie Irving succeed.)

Both of these games were tough for the Celtics. We didn't play up to the level that we should have and it showed on the hardwood. If we want to have another good season and hopefully a deep playoff run, we really need to pick up our game. Now.

Come on Celtics, I know that you have it in you!
