Celtics Draft

The 2020 NBA Draft took place a few days ago. The first three picks weren't a surprise to most people--Anthony Edwards, James Wiseman, and LaMelo Ball. Most people knew that these players were going to go first in some order. There weren't any crazy, unexpected first few selections. The highest-ranked players got picked mostly in the beginning; the lower at the end. But the fun did start at number 14.

I'm a die-hard Celtics (and sports) fan, so of course, I wanted the Celtics to choose a superstar. The Celtics do have a good history of drafting players. In the past few years, we got Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown in the first few picks. This year, the Celtics went with Aaron Nesmith from Vanderbilt. He's a sharp-shooting small forward. He clearly is one of the best shooters in this draft class, and shooting is one of the main things that the Celtics desperately need to work on. We also drafted two other first-rounders, Payton Pritchard and Yam Madar, but they will both be bench players for the rest of their careers. Neither of them is that talented.

But back to my main point. Aaron Nesmith has lots of raw talent and a very high ceiling. He has the potential to be great due to his phenomenal 3-point shooting ability. I think that he can become a better version of Khris Middleton because they are both known for their perfect shooting stroke. They are very similar players in terms of their skill set. Let's hope that I'm right about the newest Celtic and he becomes a great talent in the NBA.

This is our year.

Mr. Holley, I can’t believe that you posted on my blog! This is so awesome! Maybe I wouldn’t beat them in a one on one, but they still won’t be scoring that much against real basketball players. You made my day!

Morgan, I’m a Celtics fan, too. What’s this about their final two first-round picks not having any talent? If I tell them to play you one on one, who would win?!? I’m just teasing you. This is Michael Holley and I’m a huge fan of what you’re doing here with this blog. It looks great and it reads exceptionally well. If it’s okay with you, I’ll check in here every now and then to weigh in on sports with you. Cool?
