Carson Wentz to Indianapolis

Carson Wentz, former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, has recently been traded to the Indianapolis Colts for a third-round pick this year, and a second-round pick next year. Wentz has been up-and-down for the Eagles in his career. It was only a few years ago when he led the Eagles to a Super Bowl win (well... I know what you are thinking, Nick Foles actually got the win) and he was phenomenal that year posting 33 touchdown passes! He was even the fan favorite and the media favorite to win MVP before his injury. Since then he had been on a steady decline and this was his worst yet. He threw a gruesome 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions! He also led the league in turnovers with a ton of fumbles. He has certainly had a down year.

However, the Colts see something in Wentz. Even though they didn't give up the two first-round picks that the Eagles were hoping for, they still traded away two valuable assets in the upcoming drafts. The coaching staff in Indianapolis must believe that they can revitalize Carson Wentz because they sacrificed multiple picks that could benefit their team and fill in gaps that they might have. Last year, Philip Rivers led the Colts to an 11-5 record and made the playoffs. The Colts lost in the wildcard round to the Buffalo Bills with a score of 27-24.

Even though that loss is a tough pill to swallow because they came so close, the team is definitely excited for their future with Wentz. Many people Wentz has more potential than Rivers and because he's younger, more agile, and has a lively arm.
